Starting RB Darren McFadden is going to miss this weekend’s game with the Broncos.  He has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Raiders so far this year and he has carried the ball 113 times for 614 yards (5.4 ypc) with 4 TD runs.  McFadden has also caught 19 passes for 154 yards (8.1 avg) with 1 TD grab so far this year.  Michael Bush should be able to step in and assume a heavy workload.  He has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Raiders so far this year and he has carried the ball 60 times for 237 yards (4.0 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  Bush has also caught 9 passes for 111 yards (12.3 avg) in 2011.

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 2 November 2011 at 11:17 pm

The Oakland Raiders have waived 27-year old WR Derek Hagan.  Hagan played in 6 games for the Raiders this year and he caught 11 passes for 114 yards (10.4 avg).  He has now played in 65 games in his NFL career and he has caught 96 passes for 1,083 yards (11.3 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  With Houshmandzadeh now in the fold, the Raiders don’t need Hagan.  Look for Hagan to hook on with another team at some point this year.

The Oakland Raiders are likely going to have to shut down Sebastian Janikowski for a little bit

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 21 October 2011 at 10:47 pm

The Oakland Raiders are considering shutting down 33-year old kicker Sebastian Janikowski for a little while as he has a hamstring injury.  Janikowski has played in all six games for the Raiders so far this year and he has connected of 12 of 13 field goals (92.3%), including hitting on some really long ones.  He has also nailed all 16 of his extra point attempts this year as he has scored 52 points so far.  No matter who the Raiders bring in to kick, they are going to miss Janikowski’s amazing range.

The Oakland Raiders have placed DE Matt Shaughnessy on I.R.

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 19 October 2011 at 8:41 pm

The Raiders have lost 25-year old DE Matt Shaughnessy for the rest of the season as they have placed him on the Injured Reserve List due to a shoulder injury.  He played in 3 games for the Raiders this year and he had 7 tackles, 1 sack and 2 tackles for a loss.  Shaughnessy has now played in 35 games in his first three years with the Raiders and he has 92 tackles, 12 sacks, 12 tackles for a loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 pass defensed.  This is going to hurt the Raiders a little bit as Matt Shaughnessy is a pretty decent pass rusher.

The Oakland Raiders lose starting QB Jason Campbell for at least six weeks

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,Needs to Step Up by admin on Tuesday 18 October 2011 at 1:03 pm

The Oakland Raiders will be without 29-year old starting QB Jason Campbell for a minimum of six weeks as he needs surgery to repair a broken collar bone.  Campbell has played in all six games for the Raiders this year and he has completed 100 of 165 passes (60.6%) for 1,170 yards with 6 TD passes and 4 INTs (84.2 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 18 times for 60 yards (3.3 ypc) with 2 TD carries so far this year.  30-year old Kyle Boller is next in line and he will be the starting QB this Sunday against the Chiefs unless the Raiders make a deal for a QB today.  Boller has played in 1 game for the Raiders so far this year and he has completed 8 of 14 passes (57.1%) for 100 yards without a TD pass or interception (79.5 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 5 times for 9 yards (1.8 ypc) so far this year.  Boller has been less than impressive as a starting QB to this point in his NFL career.  22-year old rookie QB Terrelle Pryor is now the Raiders’ #2 QB.

The Oakland Raiders place LB Ricky Brown on I.R.

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Saturday 8 October 2011 at 11:11 pm

The Raiders have placed 27-year old linebacker Ricky Brown on the Injured Reserve List due to a nasty concussion.  Brown played in 3 games for the Raiders this year but he didn’t have any tackles.  Brown has now played in 58 games in his six years with the Raiders and he has 102 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 3 forced fumbles and 4 passes defensed.  This injury is going to hurt the Raiders’ special teams a little bit going forward.

The Oakland Raiders lose safety Hiram Eugene

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 12 August 2011 at 4:01 pm

The Raiders have lost 30-year old safety Hiram Eugene for the season due to a dislocated hip that he suffered in last night’s game against the Cardinals.  Eugene played in 14 games for the Raiders last year and he had 22 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.  Eugene has now played in 60 games in his first four years with the Raiders and he has 153 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 6 passes defensed and 1 interception.  This is a blow to the Raiders’ depth at safety.

The Oakland Raiders could be without Zach Miller for a while

Blogged under Big Raider News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 30 November 2010 at 2:58 pm

The Raiders will be without 24-year old TE Zach Miller for a while due to a injured fibula and a torn plantar fascia.  Miller has played in 10 games so far this year and he has caught 37 passes for 476 yards (12.9 avg) with 4 TD grabs.  Raiders’ QBs have completed 37 of 61 passes (60.7%) to Miller this year as he has been a favorite target of theirs.  25-year old Brandon Myers will  likely be Miller’s replacement until he’s ready to return to action.  Myers has played in 10 games this season and he has 9 grabs for 69 yards (7.7 avg).  The Raiders will likely throw more to the WRs and RBs with Miller out of action.

The Oakland Raiders lose Bruce Gradkowski for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,Needs to Step Up by admin on Tuesday 30 November 2010 at 2:54 pm

The Raiders will be without QB Bruce Gradkowski for the rest of the year due to a separated right shoulder.  Gradkowski played in 6 games for the Raiders this year and he has completed 83 of 157 passes (52.9%) for 1,059 yards  with 5 TD passes and 7 INTs (66.3 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 12 times for 41 yards (3.4 ypc) this year for the Raiders.  The Raiders will turn back to Jason Campbell at QB which should make owner Al Davis happy.  Campbell has played in 8 games for the Raiders so far this year and he has completed 104 of 190 passes (54.7%) for 1,322 yards with 7 TD passes and 6 INTs (75.8 QB Rating).  Campbell has also carried the ball 28 times for 101 yards (3.6 ypc) so far this year.  The Raiders have had more success with Campbell starting this season so maybe they can still turn things around this year.

The Oakland Raiders lose DE Trevor Scott for the rest of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Thursday 25 November 2010 at 11:36 pm

The Raiders have lost 26-year old DE Trevor Scott for the rest of the season with a torn left ACL.  Scott played in 10 games for the Raiders this season and he had 23 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1.5 sacks.  He has now played in 42 games in his first three years with the Raiders and he has 90 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 13.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.  This hurts the depth of the Raiders’ D-Line.
