The Raiders fell to 4-11 on the season after the beating they took at the hands of the Jaguars.  Josh McCown started this game and he was 6 for 8 passing for 46 yards.  He was replaced by rookie JaMarcus Russell who looked really raw in this football game as he completed 7 of 23 passes for 83 yards with 1 TD pass and 3 interceptions.  Dominic Rhodes had a solid game against the Jags as he carried the ball 27 times for 115 yards (4.3 ypc).  Rookie TE Zach Miller led the way in the passing game for the Raiders with 3 catches for 27 yards and a TD.  The Raiders finished up with 110 yards rushing on 30 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 13 of 31 passes for 105 yards.

The Raiders gave the Colts a very tough battle before folding up late in the game.  Josh McCown was decent as he completed 13 of 24 passes for 94 yards with a TD pass.  JaMarcus Russell got a little bit of action as he completed 2 of 5 passes for 10 yards.  Justin Fargas had a solid game as he carried the ball 26 times for 89 yards (3.4 ypc).  Dominic Rhodes had his best game of the season for the Raiders as he carried the ball 7 times for 41 yards (5.9 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 9 yards.  Ronald Curry caught 3 passes for 23 yards (7.7 avg) with a TD grab.  The Raiders finished up with 149 yards rushing on 39 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 29 passes for 104 yards.

Oakland Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report, General by admin on Thursday 13 December 2007 at 2:20 am

The Indianapolis Colts are rolling into this game as they have won their last 4 games in a row by a combined score of 116-68.  The Raiders had won 2 games in a row before getting destroyed 38-7 last week by the Packers.

The Colts will probably lean on Joseph Addai and Kenton Keith in the running game as the Raiders are allowing 150.4 yards rushing per game and 4.8 yards per carry.  With the Colts being able to run the ball at will against the Raiders it will set up Peyton Manning for deep throws off play action to Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez who could be running free in the secondary.

The Raiders need to be able to run the football to keep the Colts offense on the sideline.  That will be up to Justin Fargas who is having the best season of his NFL career.  Josh McCown will start this game but Coach Kiffin has said that JaMarcus Russell will get extended playing time in this game.  Still, the Colts are hard to throw on so the Raiders need their QBs to be careful with the football.

PREDICTION:  INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 31, OAKLAND RAIDERS 10

Green Bay Packers 38, Oakland Raiders 7

The Raiders never really had a chance in this game as the Packers dominated all three phases of this football game.  The loss dropped the Raiders to 4-9 on the season.  Josh McCown started the game and he completed 7 of 15 passes for 110 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 interceptions.  Andrew Walter replaced McCown late in the game and he was 5 of 8 passing for 38 yards.  Justin Fargas just had a so-so game as he carried the ball 15 times for 57 yards (3.8 ypc).  LaMont Jordan had a lousy game as he carried the ball 11 times for 21 yards (1.9 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 17 yards (4.3 avg).  Ronald Curry (2 rec, 48 yards) and Jerry Porter (2 rec, 45 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Raiders.  The Raiders finished up with 85 yards rushing on 28 carries (3.0 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 23 passes for 148 yards.

Linebacker Robert Thomas led the way for the Raiders with 9 tackles.  The Packers finished up with 179 yards rushing on 36 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 23 passes for 266 yards.
