Josh McCown regains his starting job for the Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have decided that they have seen enough of Daunte Culpepper this season so Josh McCown will take back over as the starting QB.  McCown has completed 44 of 68 passes (64.7%) for 494 yards with 4 TD passes and 5 interceptions (75.2 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 9 times for 46 yards (5.1 ypc).  Daunte Culpepper wasn’t exactly awful it’s just that Coach Kiffin is more confident in McCown right now.  Culpepper completed 70 of 125 passes (56%) for 817 yards with 4 TD passes and 4 interceptions (73.3 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 15 times for 36 yards (2.4 ypc).

If the Raiders had any offense at all they would have won this football game.  Daunte Culpepper completed 15 of 32 passes for 167 yards with a interception.  Justin Fargas was the Raiders leading rusher with 61 yards on 12 carries (5.1 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 36 yards (12.0 avg).  LaMont Jordan had a rough game as he rushed for 16 yards on 12 carries (1.3 ypc).  Joey Porter (4 rec, 46 yards) and Ronald Curry (3 rec, 45 yards) led the way for the receiving corps.  The Raiders finished with 92 yards rushing on 27 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 32 passes for 143 yards. 

Kirk Morrison led the way for the Raiders defense with 12 tackles.  The Titans rushed for 192 yards on 36 carries (5.3 ypc) and they completed 6 of 14 passes for 26 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs 12, Oakland Raiders 10

The Raiders played hard in this game but in the end it wasn’t quite enough.  Daunte Culpepper completed 18 of 29 passes for 228 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception.  LaMont Jordan had a had time finding running room against the Chiefs as he carried the ball 11 times for 29 yards (2.6 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 40 yards (10.0 avg).  Dominic Rhodes also had a rough game as he carried the ball 9 times for 21 yards (2.3 ypc).  Jerry Porter only caught 1 pass….for 59 yards.  Ronald Curry also had a good game as he caught 4 passes for 45 yards (11.3 avg) with a TD grab.  The Raiders finished up with 55 yards rushing on 24 carries (2.3 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 29 passes for 213 yards.

The defense gave a solid effort for the Raiders in this football game.  Thomas Howard led the way for the defense with 8 tackles.  The Chiefs finished up rushing for 126 yards on 32 carries (3.9 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 32 passes for 164 yards.
