Art Shell out as Raiders coach after one season

Art Shell’s return engagement as head coach of the Oakland Raiders was not a success.  The Raiders finished 2-14 and looked horrible doing it and that’s why Art Shell is no longer employed by the Raiders.  Shell now has a career record of 56-52 in the regular season and 2-3 in the post season.

I’m glad Art Shell is gone. I never seen an unemotional coach as he was and we all know sports is based on emotions, knowledge and skills. Besides, I think linesmen make good coaches (I don’t think coaches make good linesmen either). There’s a great deal more to coaching a team then just plays. Managing the players on/off the field is a job in itself. Okay, enough blood guys. Let’s rebuild. First, we have to go after coach Cowler. We need his emotions. Do you think we can get that quaterback from LSU?

Coach Cowher will be unavailable until next season. But he would be a great fit for the Raiders.

Thunder….if you want the QB from LSU you can get him. The Raiders can get whoever they want and they definately earned that right by sucking so much last season. Russell would be a great fit for the Raiders style because he has a fantastic throwing arm and Al Davis likes those kind of QBs….but….unless they focus on building a good offensive line it won’t matter who plays QB for the Raiders. Not even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady could win playing behind the offensive line of the Raiders.

    Ravenhater…How true!!! I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know any OL to suggest. I sure there’s a couple that need a job.

I would spend almost all of their free agent money on the OL. Watch what Moss and Porter do for the new coach now that they are out of the doghouse.
