The Raiders just couldn’t stop LT and fall 21-14 to Chargers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Monday 27 November 2006 at 1:13 am

The Raiders just couldn’t stop LaDainian Tomlinson, who ran for 109 and 2 TDs and also threw a TD pass in the 4th quarter to tie the football game.   The Raiders allowed the Chargers to rush for 110 yards on 25 carries (4.4 ypc).  The Raiders played well against the pass as the Chargers completed only 15 of 32 passes for 150 net yards passing.

Aaron Brooks completed 17 of 30 passes for 187 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT.  Brooks also carried the ball 4 times for 29 yards (7.3 ypc).  Justin Fargas had a rough time against the Chargers defense as he carried the ball 14 times for 32 yards (2.3 ypc).  RaShard Lee only had one carry and it was a 1 yard TD run.  Rookie WR John Madsen caught 3 passes for 69 yards and a TD.  TE Randal Williams caught 4 passes for 29 yards and Randy Moss caught 3 passes for 26 yards.

The Raiders played tough, but not good enough to win as they fall to 2-9 on the season.

yet another week to only imagine what it would be like to

watch the raiders win a game.and why is it so many bloggers

are happy with a almost win.well here’s the deal fan’s,they

still lost.improvement yes,but still a “l”.let’s all look at (what

i see) are the problems.

                #1-lack of consistent pass protection.

#2- #18 is playing like he’s had one too many

hits off his favorite bong.no hustle at all.if its

not a long deep pattern or a short slant,he’s

             totally inaffective.

#3- hey big al..either get porter over himself or

             replace his whiny ass.

well i could go on but it get redundant,so,don’t be satisfied with our raiders as they are,’cause the fact’s are,

they suck!!!!!

Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Friday 24 November 2006 at 1:38 pm

The Raiders looked better last week with Aaron Brooks running the show, but they lost anyway.  The Chargers are surging as they have won four in a row and know lead the division.

Look for the Raiders to try to run the ball to control the clock and keep the Chargers defense off the field.  Justin Fargas (329 yards rushing) is now the main man (due to LaMont Jordan’s injury) and they could have success running the ball as the Chargers allow 4.2 yards per carry.  Aaron Brooks gives the Raiders a fighting chance and he seems to have a good synergy with Ronald Curry.  The Chargers have allowed 206.0 net yards passing, so if Brooks has time…..that’s a big IF…..the Raiders could have some success.

The Chargers will run the ball with LaDainian Tomlinson who’s been on fire.  Tomlinson has rushed for 1,037 yards with 19 TDs.  The Raiders defense allows 135.4 yards rushing per game and 4.0 yards per carry.  The Chargers should have success throwing the ball if they feel the need to.  Philip Rivers (2,307 yards passing) has been outstanding this season.

The Chargers should win this football game with ease, but the Raiders will be a little better with Brooks at QB.

Raiders fall on the road 17-13 to Chiefs

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Monday 20 November 2006 at 12:09 pm

The Raiders actually looked like an NFL team on offense Sunday in K.C.  In fact, they almost won this football game as Aaron Brooks drove them down the field at the end of the game before throwing an interception in the end-zone to seal the Raiders fate.

Aaron Brooks had a decent game completing 13 of 22 passes for 179 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 5 times for 34 yards (6.8 ypc).  Lamont Jordan carried the ball 4 times for 24 yards before tearing his MCL and ending his season.  Justin Fargas replaced him and carried the ball 19 times for 52 yards (2.7 ypc).  Ronald Curry had his best game of the season with 5 catches for 85 yards.  TE Courtney Anderson caught 3 passes for 15 yards and a TD.

Michael Huff (10 tackles) and Stuart Schweigert (8 tackles) led the way for the Raiders defense.  The Raiders just couldn’t stop the Chiefs running game as they carried the ball 37 times for 200 yards (5.4 ypc).  The Chiefs only completed 9 of 16 passes for 82 net yards passing.

The Raiders put forth a good effort…..but in the end it was just another loss.

Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 7:24 pm

It looks as if both Aaron Brooks & Trent Green will be starting against each other after long injury lay-offs.  Look for both of them to be a little rusty early in the game.

The Raiders really needed Brooks to come back, at least he can roll out a little bit to avoid the pass rush.  Still, look for the Raiders to try to run the football right at the Chiefs defense.  The Chiefs have allowed 113.8 yards rushing per game and 3.9 yards per carry.  I also have a feeling that Aaron Brooks will have success throwing the football if the line gives him time.  The Raiders have allowed 47 sacks already this season, but the Chiefs don’t have much of a pass rush other than DE Jared Allen who has six sacks.

Look for the Chiefs to come out running the football with Larry Johnson (891 yards rushing) to keep pressure off of Trent Green when they decide to throw the ball.  The Raiders run defense has allowed 128.2 yards rushing per game and 3.9 yards per carry, so Johnson should have a good game.  Look for Eddie Kennison to be involved in the pass offense alot more than he was with Damon Huard running the show.  Also, the Chiefs will be without Tony Gonzalez and that could cripple the Chiefs throwing game.

The Chiefs should win a low-scoring game against the Raiders.  Arrowhead stadium, the fans and Larry Johnson will lead the Chiefs to victory.

Oakland Raiders to make QB change

Andrew Walter came out and blasted the offensive co-ordinator because he said the playbook stunk.  So, Art Shell will do the right thing and bench Walter, but Walter deserved benched anyway for his awful play.  Aaron Brooks will start at Kansas City and the Raiders will be better off because of that.  Brooks can move around alot better than Walter can, and he can get the ball to Randy Moss, who’s been just wasting away this season.

Raiders lose a tough one to Broncos 17-13

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Sunday 12 November 2006 at 11:40 pm

The Broncos scored 10 un-answered points in the 4th quarter to beat the Raiders.  Andrew Walter completed 18 of 33 passes for 214 yards, but he lost 2 fumbles.  Zack Crockett carried the ball 7 times for 40 yards (5.7 ypc).  Lamont Jordan had a hard time with the Broncos D, carrying the ball 10 times for 12 yards (1.2 ypc) and a TD.  Justin Fargas was going backwards as he carried the ball 8 times and lost 6 yards (-0.8 ypc).  TE Randal Williams (5 rec, 61 yards) and Alvis Whitted (4 rec, 53 yards) led the Raiders in receiving.

Kirk Morrison led an outstanding effort by the defense, but it wasn’t enough.  Fabian Washington (2 interceptions) and Nnamdi Asomugha (interception) did their part also.  The Raiders held the running game of the Broncos to 63 yards on 26 carries (2.4 ypc).  The Broncos completed 20 of 31 passes for 201 net yards passing.

There is no such thing as a moral victory in the NFL, so this loss really hurt because the Raiders should have won this game.

Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

Blogged under Front Page,This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Friday 10 November 2006 at 8:27 pm

This is a rematch of an exciting earlier 13-3 meeting between these two teams in which the Broncos won.  This is a very important game for the 6-2 Broncos.  For the Raiders it’s just another home game, but you know Mike Shanahan wants nothing more than to beat Al Davis!

Look for the Broncos to play this game very close to the vest and try to grind out a similar gameplan as the last time these two teams met.  Look for the Broncos to run the ball alot with Mike Bell and Tatum Bell.  The Raiders allow 136.4 yards rushing per game and 4.0 per carry so chances are the Broncos will be successful on the ground.  When the Raiders defense creeps up to stop the run, look for Jake Plummer to take some deep shots to Javon Walker (39 rec, 669 yards).

The Raiders would me smart to run the ball alot on Sunday against the Broncos.  Lamont Jordan (398 yards rushing) and Justin Fargas (283 yards rushing) should be able to have some success on the ground against the Broncos.  The Raiders need a running game to slow the pass rush of the Broncos because the Raiders have already allowed 44 sacks this season.  Randy Moss vs. Champ Bailey would be interesting if Aaron Brooks was playing for the Raiders, but it will be Andrew Walter.

I think these two teams will play another boring, low-scoring game that will be won by the Broncos.

Oakland Raiders QBs

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Thursday 9 November 2006 at 12:58 am

It’s really hard to judge the Raiders QBs because they’ve been sacked an unbelievable 44 times this season already!  Andrew Walter is getting his first NFL playing time this year and it’s not been pretty.  Walter has completed 47.0% of his passes for 1,091 yards with 3 TDs and 9 INTs.  Walter has a QB rating of 51.1, but it’s hard to blame him for that because he never has time to throw the ball.  Walter has been sacked 37 times this season!

Aaron Brooks has been injured most of the season and it looks like he’s been lucky because of that.  Brooks has completed 6 of 14 passes for 68 yards this season.  He does have 5 carries for 27 yards, so he might have a decent chance of surviving when he returns from injury soon.

Marques Tuiasosopo hasn’t gotten much of a chance to prove what he can do this season.  He has completed 6 of 13 passes for 68 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs.  Marques is a good runner, carrying the ball 4 times for 29 yards.

Raiders look pathetic in 16-0 loss on Monday night

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Tuesday 7 November 2006 at 1:36 pm

The Raiders look absloutely awful last night against the Seahawks.  The Raiders couldn’t pass block at all, allowing Andrew Walter to be sacked 9 times in the game.  Walter completed 16 of 35 passes for 166 yards.  LaMont Jordan ran the ball well, but the Raiders didn’t stick to it.  Jordan carried the ball 9 times for 63 yards (7.0 ypc).  Randy Moss caught 6 passes for 76 yards.

The defense was led by Kirk Morrison (12 tackles) and Tommy Kelly (10 tackles).  The Raiders couldn’t stop the Seahawks from running the football, as the Seahawks gained 207 yards on 39 carries (5.3 ypc).  The Seahawks completed 18 of 30 passes for 164 net yards passing.

I’m still amazed that the Raiders have won 2 games this season.
