When will he learn?

You would think that throughout the years of semi-greatness and near Super Bowl glory folling the Madden years that Al Davis would have realized what a complete and total idiot he has become.  My first firm evidence came with the trade of Marcus Allen, I don’t care how old he was or was his currrent stats were, Allen was one of the best backs ever to play, probably the best third down back. Since then it has been a slew of steady, irresponsible idiocies committed by the Raiders proud but but ignorant owner. The steady stream of Heismen winner that don’t pan out, the poor treatment of Tim Brown, letting Grudden go(has a team ever before been between in the Super Bowl by thier previous years coach?)aquiring players based on past glory, not future potential.  If Davis is really a Raiders fan at heart, he will retire, sell the team(maybe Madden is looking to buy?) and let the Silver And Black get back to thier Commitment to Excellence and start winning again.

Al Davis is an old man that is set in his ways. I don’t think he’ll ever sell the team and will die as the owner of the Raiders. You can’t ask a man that has loved something so long to give it up, because that could be the thing that keeps him alive.

your comments are true ravenhater , i must agree with most of it .. at the same time al is very smart and i believe he does realize its time to let the child go .. rumors and only rumors are out there that carmen and his group are trying to aquire the raiders but i believe the price is to high .. al is smart enough to understand change, i believe he wrote the book on it back in his day .. he wont die without the raiders and the contributions to the league, football and the raiders could never be forgotten …. god love him but i do believe al knows its time
